A couple of days back a huge explosion happened in Kabul targeting Mr. Amrullah Saleh one the brave sons and honest servants of this country who has been since very long involved in fighting against terrorists in Afghanistan. The explosion was less than 5 minutes away from our home with around more than 1 ton of explosives.

At that time I was about to move from office for a meeting and my sister was only about a 100 meters away from the explosion on the way back home from her job but thanks god they moved back and they survived. I received at least twenty calls from family and friends who knew that the explosion was on my way back home. I moved after an hour picked my sister on the way and went back home.

The ongoing conflict continued for almost 6 to 7 hours. We were all in a state of shock that night and after every 30 minutes or so an explosion was happening. As every other explosion, it took me a couple of days to come back to a state of mind to continue the normal life.

Today, I was watching a video from one of the news agencies describing how the incident happened while the target person who could survive was explaining how it all happened while showing the place and explaining how he could survive. I got lost in emotions, felt the pain while he was talking. He is a true son of this country and an honest servant.

Today I found the Amrullah Saleh in me.

Yes!

I felt how deep our connections are, how impatiently we want peace to come and the sun to rise.

Yes! How we deeply feel each other’s pain as citizens of this country and how hard we hate all those who give us pain and unforgettable black days.

While thinking about how my activities can contribute to stopping this war and getting closer to peace. I got to know how meaningful can my work if I consider putting more efforts and truly serve this country while not giving up while facing problems.

I believe we are all in constant fight accepting to live in Afghanistan despite all our challenges but the nature of our fights differs. I believe each one of us plays an important role in the Afghanistan war by committing and doing best in what we do!

I am running a company and I believe high quality and genuine service, the solution to social problems are my contributions to ending the Afghanistan war. Maybe you are a teacher and your contribution to stopping war might be quality and life-changing lessons. While our brother who is a shop keeper can play his role by being an honest person providing quality products.

So let’s think for a few minutes and find out what is our contribution to stop the war in Afghanistan and let’s do what we do just in a different way and contribute to stopping the war.

Find the Saleh in you, nurture it and grow it so our fight against this war becomes more meaningful and the day when it is going to be the last day finally would come!

Don’t forget we all play our roles in this war, so let’s be better fighters for peace by being committed, hardworking and genuine when doing our daily works. If Saleh is paying the price of serving this country with the risk of his life so why not all of us at least by an added effort and genuine service?
